Washington Capitals hockey club from the capital of the United States (D.C., USA) was founded in 1974.

The current Washington logo is a modern version of the first logo. The team name and the letter T are in the form of a stylized stick and puck (only on the first logo the font was reversed). From 1995 to 2007, the logo had a White-headed Eagle and the U.S. Capitol Dome (now these elements can be seen on the alternative emblem as the letters W). The club colors are red, white and blue.
